As a global power manufacturing leader, Cummins showcases its products and services around the world, aiming to foster meaningful connections with minority business enterprises (MBEs) and corporations. In 2024, Cummins was featured in Atlanta at the NMSDC’s Annual Conference & Exchange, an event where hundreds of certified minority-owned businesses, nonprofits, regional affiliates, national corporate members, and government agencies come together to shape the future for MBEs and corporations alike.
We were tasked with developing a booth that not only stood out from the crowd but also showcased Cummins’ rich history and unwavering commitment to supplier diversity and business sustainability. To achieve this, we designed an impactful timeline that invited attendees to explore Cummins’ legacy—a company built on steadfast values, solving complex challenges for customers, communities, and the environment to create a better world.
Our process began with an in-depth exploration of Cummins’ 100+ year history, curating the most influential moments that shaped the company into what it is today. These stories were categorised into four key areas that highlight Cummins’ core values: Ethnicity, Gender, Social Mobility, and Innovation & Sustainability. By organising the timeline this way, we aimed to communicate Cummins’ commitment to diversity, equity, and responsible innovation, showing how these values have been at the heart of the company’s evolution. This approach allowed us to demonstrate that Cummins is not only a company of the past but one that continuously works toward an inclusive and sustainable future.
The result was a visually captivating, informative 30-foot-wide display booth, which effectively drew in attendees and encouraged engagement. The timeline told a compelling story—one that was not only about the past but also about Cummins’ ongoing journey to make a global impact. The display invited viewers to connect with Cummins’ legacy and envision their role in shaping a more diverse and sustainable future.
